Job Description

Essential Duties:  

Creates setups. Loads, unloads, stops, and starts CNC machines. Performs repeat setups. Monitors machine during operation in order to detect conditions such as those made by dull (in need of dressing) grinding wheels. Measures dimensions of finished pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and fixtures. Select and mount grinding wheels on machines, according to wheel setup sheets, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures. Dress grinding wheels according to specifications.

 Knowledge and Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of grinding wheels. Basic understanding of materials. Must be able to operate various controls on CNC machines and perform required maintenance per daily TPM. Knowledge of blueprint reading, calipers, micrometers, and basic trigonometry or math skills is a must. Ability to use math to solve problems. Knowledge of GTD. Ability to read CNC programs.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. A minimum 3-5 years of experience working with various metals.
